Frank Martinez is an Associate General Counsel for Academics, Finance, Students and Athletics in the Office of General Counsel at the University of Kentucky. He serves as the immigration attorney for the University of Kentucky obtaining permanent residency and temporary nonimmigrant status for faculty, staff, physicians and researchers.  He also obtains J-1 Waivers for physicians.

Prior to joining the University of Kentucky, he worked as the immigration attorney for Southern Illinois University and Indiana University and handled labor and employment cases as well.  Frank has argued cases before the 4th District Appellate Court of Illinois, the 7th Circuit resulting in several published opinions and handled numerous arbitration cases related to labor and employment matters while working for the City of Springfield, Illinois as their labor and employment attorney.  While at Southern Illinois University, Frank was President of the Illinois Government Bar Association for two years.   

A native of Sterling, Illinois, Frank received his undergraduate and law degree from the University of Iowa.
