Associate General Counsel/Executive Director Gift & Estate Planning-Philanthropy

Dion Guest serves as Associate General Counsel to the University and the Executive Director of Gift Planning in the Office of Philanthropy and Alumni Engagement. Dion’s service to U.K. includes leading the Philanthropy Gift Planning Program, advising the University regarding gift and endowment agreements, trust and estate administration matters, non-cash gifts, and charitable gift and non-profit tax matters.

A native of Oldham County, Kentucky, Dion received his undergraduate degree and law degree from the University of Kentucky. He was also a member of the Kentucky Law Journal.  He is a member of the Kentucky Bar Association and is admitted to practice in the Commonwealth of Kentucky, the United States District Courts of the Eastern and Western District of Kentucky, and the United States Bankruptcy Courts of the Eastern and Western District of Kentucky. 

Dion served as Director of Gift & Estate Planning at UK from 2000-2011 before he was named Executive Director and House Counsel for the Baptist Healthcare Foundation in Florida.  Dion then served 10 years as the Executive Director of Gift & Estate Planning at Florida State University before returning to UK.
