            Cherene Fannin is an Associate General Counsel of Medical Risk Management. She has nearly twenty years of legal experience in private legal practice and healthcare systems. In her current position, she advises the University Healthcare teams regarding risk management issues as well as claims against medical providers.
Prior to joining the University of Kentucky, her professional focus was on defense of medical negligence claims as well as corporate counsel for healthcare systems. She has served as risk manager and compliance officer within healthcare systems. Prior to attending law school, she was a Physician Assistant, working primarily in general surgery.
A native of Ashland, Kentucky, Cherene received undergraduate degrees in History and Spanish from Centre College. Additionally, Cherene received her Bachelor of Health Science in Physician Assistant Studies from the University of Kentucky. She graduated from the University of Dayton School of Law. She is a member of the Kentucky Bar.
